Hello everyone, I didn't want my first post to be a grumble but today I just got really pissed off - with other cyclists. I commute into the City (of London) and lock up at a row of racks at Bank station. These racks could easily accommodate two bikes on either side, if only the first to arrive would lock their at one end rather than taking up the whole side. There's little enough space to lock up a bike and it really bugs me that cyclists are so selfish like this.

If it's you, stop it.

Sorry dude - most folk double lock their bikes, so need either end... just park on the other side - arse about t1t to the other bike - - i.e. handle bars one end, your handle bars the other..easy... seems to work on my Uni campus....

You'll get a bit of overlap, but that's it..... this is what is intended...

Don't know about the bike racks you're talking about, but these ones are about a bike and a half in length, easily able to take two bikes overlapped at the wheel and locked through both wheels and the frame. Unless, that is, someone decides to position the bike right in the middle of the rack, which is my gripe.
