I've started thinking about a n+1 bike that I'm planning to buy next year some time.
At the moment I ride a Spesh Crosstrail which I really like, but I now want something faster.
I'm not sure if I want a full roadie, or more of a cyclocross style bike.
I'm planning on using it on my commute in good weather, and for longer rides at the weekend. I want to ride it mostly on roads, but if possible I'd also like it to be tough enough to handle a bit of rough stuff, paths through parks, that sort of thing but nothing too offroady.
So:
-light and fast
-drop bars
-can fit a rack for panniers, or possibly just a trunk bag
-tough, but without making it too heavy
-around £1,000 budget
At the moment I think the Spesh Tricross and the Genesis Croix de Fer look good. Any other recommendations?
