i'm now back to commuting a couple of days a week (due to working on site for said days), and for the first time i've opted for spds over looks as the cleat of choice.

the main reason being that i don't have to carry shoes in a bag. as i'm freelance, i don't want to leave shoes in the office, whereas at my previous place of employment i had the luxury of a locker.

anyone else keep the bike shoes on in the office?

Sometimes. But then I keep my shiny shoes in a works locker so don't have any excuse for doing it.

My line of work as a contractor takes me to many different workplaces too, so the luxury of a locker is out of the question. Recently I picked up a couple of pairs of shoes from a high street shoe shop which had velcro strips instead of laces. I found these quite comfortable to wear during the day, and as my preference is for toe clips these worked well on the bike. Not exactly Prada, but who looks at your shoes in the office?

I keep a pair of decent shoes in the office - in fact that's about the only place I keep decent shoes! (I also have a couple of suits, coat etc. in the office too). However, a reasonable-sized bag would also hold the bike shoes if you are not 'on-site' all the time.... I don't know why many men seem so averse to carrying bags for the things that they need. There's penty of both professional and more cool bags out there that would take a pair of bike shoes and more and still not be enormous or heavy.

I wear my bike shoes in the office, if you buy MTB shoes they can generally walked in although not too far.
