If carbon bikes are so great, why are the owners always totally paranoid about everyday activities like holding the bike whilst working on it, leaning it up against things, hanging them up for storage, or them suffering everyday knocks in use?
All us steel owners don't get stressed out about such things.

Quite a lot are not.

Quite a lot do.

I found using the seat post holds the bike more balanced and less damaging on all types of frame.

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
Advice used to be buy a cheap alloy seatpost to use with the bikestand. My LBS used to do this. I've always 'hung' the bike by the top tube by finding the balance point and only tightening the clamp enough to stop the bike falling off - ie not tight - and always use a piece of pipe insulation to protect the frame

If it gets knocked while clamped to top tube. You could have a problem. Not worth the risk.:okay:
Fair enough.
