SlowCoach said:I've had a bike stolen twice. The first occasion was at Uni when thieves turned up with a crane and low loader - they got security to close the road whilst they loaded the complete bike rack including 40 plus bikes onto the back of the lorry - goes to show that you can pinch anything if you have enough cheek.
On the 2nd occasion I had more success. The thief broke the D lock with a car jack. In his haste he failed to notice that some scrote before him must have been messing with the front wheel quick release (an occupational hazard at this rack). 50 yards down the road the front wheel parted company with the rest of the bike... It cost me a new set of front forks, but the thief was last seen stumbling down the road on foot, apparently in considerable agony, after abandoning the two parts of my bike.
Did the Uni pay up for helping the thieves and not preventing the theft?
