bike travel insurance

Hi am taking my bike to Italy and would like to get it covered on travel insurance .
Any recommendations of companies that people have already used..
I have had a look but quite a few won't insure bikes.

Perhaps the mode of travel would influence insurer choice. Will you go by ferry and cycle the rest of the way or use air or rail transport?

Yeah that info would help..
Flying to Italy then cycling for 4 days then flying back..
Just trying to find normal travel ins with bike add on..

would your normal home insurance cover it? mine covers my personal belongings whilst temporarily elsewhere in the world and the bike is specified under that policy so i can freely cycle around the world if i want for no additional cost!!!

then you just need normal travel insurance and unless your racing your bike they should cover you in the event of a claim for you coming off it (the same way as if you hired a bike and had an accident)
