Are we talking about my teeth again? If so I'll put them back in.
You've got to do it with the teeth in situ Rocky, works for me:thumbsup:.

Health Warning. Don't believe everything you read on the internet.

@slowmotion my wife has done this today and says you deserve a big hug.
Perhaps one from me too, as otherwise I would have been cutting out and renewing the silicone.

More ventilation might stop the mould from growing in the first place?
Yes, more light too. Mould doesn't like light, I read. There's a 4 inch Soler and Palau in-line duct fan ( 100cfm, free air) that ventilates the shower but I suspect the ducting is very badly sealed. Thanks for the reminder.

There's no window. We couldn't meet the safety requirements of boiler flues and still have an opening.

I've just had a small bedroom made into a bathroom and building regs required a noisy extractor fan linked to the light switch, despite there being a big window that can be thrown open. I queried the need for the fan but apparently it's to combat just these problems with moisture remaining in the house (most people don't like opening windows). I prefer to keep the fan switched off and open the window instead.
Most small (4 inch ) wall-mounted bathroom extractor fans are absolute junk, and blooming expensive and noisy to boot. You get far more ventilation from an open window, especially if you leave the bathroom door open as well.

We have 4 bathrooms.

Well, one's in Nt's folks' granny flat downstairs. And one of the others is the guest en suite. And one is 'our' en suite. So there's only one spare one really.

Not sure I'd describe our house as a mansion. It is big, a Victorian semi. Having been previously chopped up into flats, it's had all sorts of false walls and things over the years.

One day, we'll finish it. In the mean time, at least we now know how to keep the silicone clean.
