Despite being Lancashire born and bred I have to admit that I'm only a recent convert to the black pudding.

However, living so close to Bury in Lancashire means I have no shortage of the BEST puddings in the UK.

Really?
:okay:

(not something I eat)

Miss Goodbody also loves a bit of black pudding, and she gets it regularly from the local butcher.

Wrong. That's Lorne sausage.
Until fairly recently I thought that was only available to ships chandlers as I'd never seen it anywhere else but on ships, and who would be stupid enough to buy a square log of greasy meat? Then I went to Scotland.
Similarly I've never seen Bairds Worcestershire sauce anywhere but on a ship. Even Google seems to be struggling.

I'd quite like to try that as it's a 'soft' pudding - have to be mail order though.
The Belgians are mad for black and white pudding. They usually eat a whole grilled pudding in a roll with apple sauce, which is surprisingly nice.

They do a special Christmas black pudding with the same kind of spices in it as Gluehwein. It tastes chuffing terrible.

I do miss the lumps of pork fat you get in the British version though.
If you are ever in Leeds, it would be worth your while to visit Greenwoods butchers in Boroughbridge and buy their sausages, black pudding and bacon. They will meet and exceed your expectations.

Black pudding and a fried egg in a bap...used to be my choice at a carboot on a sunny sunday morning.
