Got to 50+ donations, but packed it in after doctors started grumbling about the time taken to fill the bloody bag.

Time for another donation. After the low iron failure last time I've been taking iron supplements, licking girders and eating as much spinach as I could manage (I didn't resort to wrapping it around liver @PeteXXX but I did look sideways at a scotch egg in the Co-op. I'm not sure if there's any other way of looking at them).

And still the damned test didn't sink!!! All was not lost though. The machine reading came in at 145. I think the threshold is 138 so I sailed through and was able to donate :okay:

Or you could try topping up with an iron supplement for a few weeks before donating (if low iron/haemoglobin was the problem).
It did the trick for me. I saw it as a win/win: I was able to donate again and I was benefiting from improved iron levels too :okay:
I was taking iron supplement tablets and munching spinach for about a fortnight before my donation.
Will have to try and remember to take them about a month before next time.
