Got my blood test back today
I'm still low on iron so I guess blood donation is probably out for good now!!
I use Sainsbury’s Iron tablets, one a day, the old haemoglobin test drops like an iron brick in the test tube .

10 mile ride there, 5 back.
And you were lighter on the way back!
After a long enforced break I’m back on the machine that goes bing. Edit: Platelets.

Well that's certainly mooooooozzzzz to me.
I'll get my coat. 😂
Pretty amazing there's a 'Blood Donation' thread on a cycling forum, cheers folks!
I donated on Tuesday and attempted a ride today, so ~4days afterwards and felt pretty low on energy.
The nurse said about 2 weeks until red blood count was normal. Is that what others expect ?

I've never noticed any after effects at all. In the past I have cycled to and from the donation centre, and done other exercise in the afternoon - though that was 25+ years ago now.
I haven't actually donated since leaving Merthyr Tydfil at the end of 2019. I haven't seen any posters or other adverts for a session. I should be more proactive about that.
