Soz, couldn't resist sharing my world-shattering, mind-blowing triumph. Village show today, this was my best contribution:

where's the trumpet? 'idden behind them floo'ers? ah want me money back.
I'm blowing it at home. (fnaar)

That's a proper arrangement too. None of that arty minimalist one stick of bamboo in a vase malarky.
And nothing evokes summer like the smell of a warm marquee at a country show
Village hall rather than marquee, alas, but otherwise it was very evocative! And the great thing about this particular class is that it's "A Collection of Garden Flowers" and isn't in the flower arranging section, it's in the flowers section, so basically I just collected one of everything I could find and put them in a vase with the tall ones at the back. This is how I have always arranged flowers and now I feel utterly vindicated.

Well, write it down boy ......
Really beautiful! You've obviously got an eye for it, well done. It was our allotment show yesterday but I couldn't enter as we had visitors and I had to "entertain" them. (Shame as I had a second place in the sweetcorn category to defend). I also entered the flower bunch category last year but got nowhere, so your bunch has spurred me on for next year.

That's really pretty. Well done on your victory.:bravo:
I too like to stick the tall flowers at the back, it worked for my Mum and my Gran. I'm feeling inspired to go and pick some flowers from the garden and shove them into a vase, it won't look as nice as your arrangement though.
