Boardman Cycle Computer dead following battery change

Pretty much as the title says. Anyone had this happen? Any potential fix?

I've had it for about 18 months, battery low warning has been flashing for about a month, cadence data patchy, altimeter dead (that's what the manual says happens with a low battery)

Finally got round to replacing it this morning. Put in new battery, dead. Put in old battery, went through initialisation sequence. Put in new battery again, dead. Put in old battery, dead.

I have tried the A, B, C button reset according to the instruction manual, dead.

Ideas?

New battery may be faulty. Can I suggest another new one?

(7dayshop are much cheaper than the high street.)

I changed mine after months of low battery and no issues. A dead battery sounds likely.

Without trying to suggest you are a fool - did you get the battery in the right way up and are the contacts clean?

Stick a meter over the battery, check it's got some volts in it. That's what I'd do anyway.

It worked after I tried three new batteries, and wiped contacts and batteries. Thanks.
