Hi all, my long serving Kona dew deluxe has had some bad news from the bike shop. Lots of work needed and I need a bike for Tuesday for work.

I have reserved the above bike and with discount etc it works out at £330.

It's the only bike they seem to have for my size, I haven't had much time to research but this is close, available and pretty cheap.
Is it up to the challenge ? My kona has around 20k miles on it and has been kept outside at work in all weather. I just bought some 35 marathons for it too as the roads are awful and the 28's were not up to it.

It depends on how much it's going to cost to fix the Kona, that bike is a decent bike and if you spend $330 on a new bike you're getting one that's not up to the standards of the Kona. If you want a bike that will last you a long time and be reliable for commuting you need to consider spending a bit more money for something like this, and it's on sale: http://www.halfords.com/cycling/bikes/hybrid-bikes/boardman-hybrid-team-bike-2016 If that bike is out of your price range then I would fix up the Kona since it has a better group package than the Boardman Comp you showed us.

If the Kona needs a new derailleur (for example) do not try to save money and go with cheaper derailleur, you want the same derailleur you have now or one step higher if you want to maintain or increase the durability.
