It's not what the bike is made of that is important it's the engine that powers it. Unless your riding competitively where small savings might make a difference then the frame material is unimportant. I had no problem catching and passing a guy on a nice looking carbon bike on a 2km climb while I was on my aluminium framed road bike(even though I had already ridden 140km).All three bikes were recommended as good value for money with a frame that was not cheap and nasty with skimped components. I really like the look of the carbon finish and I can afford one I'm never going to be more than an average rider. However if someone were to give me areally convincing argument for aluminium i might re-consider. Though so far in all but two of the lbs i have been in i have been less than convinced they know what they are talking about. I believe this guy when i asked if he could recommend another bike that was better value for money - he said not. Funnily enough a guy i know in Halfords said the same. I suppose i just want one too
That omission excluded the PX when I was looking for another bike. You can always fit side entry cages to small frames - as I have on my 7005SL Ribble, which has a 44 cm seat tube, and on my Rose which is also a small frame. On that PX you are going to have a struggle getting the bottle out and back in with the standard cage. I am using the Lezyne Flow side cages at the moment.sorry pic is so late, cheated as small frame only has one bottle cage mount!
