Hi all,

I've come across the Bodyfloat seatpost on Kickstarter and would like some feedback from people who have used a dampening or isolation seatpost. The creators say that this seatpost does not dampen the bumps from the road but isolates the rider from them.

I've backed the project for the 2.0 model (have some days to back out if I want) but now I'm thinking that the change in seat height (depending on how you select the settings of the seat) might interfere with pedal stroke; considering all the effort put into measuring seat height for road bikes. I'm planning on using it for my commuter so this might not be as much as an issue but I'd like to know how the small seat height changes while you are pedalling could affect your stroke from people who have used something similar. I welcome any other information or experiences (pro and con) from using these sorts of seatpost.

Thanks,

Ride

There's a good reason why suspension seat posts didn't take off - you just don't need them! They create more problems than they address.

Over engineered! TBH there is no need for such a device, the simple tube and clamp system of a regular seatpost is plenty good enough.

you give them $300 and you get one of their products, no shares, no real return on your investment, just a sample of something that may or may not work?
