Our boiler lived in a dedicated cupboard on the landing and across from our bedroom. The time switch was set to 06:00 and the initial " fan spin up and " whoomph " as the gas ignited acted as my alarm. Often I would find myself waking a minute or so beforehand. It was approaching the end of its days so I swapped it out for a heat pump that lives outside. I'm still waking at 06:00, I guess my internal clock has kept its program 🤔

The Co2 alarm has also to be interlinked to the mains electrics along with the fire alarm.
However, no law to say the Co2 alarm has to be near to the boiler.
Both of mine are in the hall, the heating engineer that services my boiler yearly has never suggested moving the alarm nearer the boiler.
Ah, my boiler is in the kitchen.
When I got a new one I wanted it to be in a cupboard just off the kitchen, but I was told it couldn't be done.
In a previous flat (it was first floor, now I'm ground floor) the boiler was indeed in a bedroom cupboard.
