I had my first run on a BoJo bike this morning, and it was fun.

Unfortunately, the 25 minutes it took to find a bike was more than the 20 minutes it usually takes me to walk from Paddington to Marble Arch because I had to try 4 racks before finding one that worked and had bikes available.

It was the first time I've ridden in London in over 30 years too, and I loved that too. Nonchalantly heading down the Edgeware Road without realising I was on the Edgeware Road until I got in sight of the offices. The bike was fine, though I did only need one of the three gears available.

I use one every day to go from Victoria to Paddington and back.

easier than buying another bike and leaving it at the station and 100 times better than getting the tube, even when it's chucking it down and blowing a gale.

Your right about the gears though. I use gear 2 for starting off, gear 3 all other times. gear 1 never gets used.

I tried one a couple of months back. I was expecting something pretty much identical to the Paris Vélib, but was a bit disappointed with a couple of things: 1. The saddle felt too far forwards in relation to the cranks and I found myself sitting off the back of the saddle to be comfortable - you can't adjust the forward/back position of the saddle can you? 2. The gearing was slightly lower than the Vélib, presumably because central London isn't quite as flat as Paris, but I kept finding neither 2 nor 3 were quite right! But then that's just a personal thing.
