I am the same age and set myself a couple of targets at the beginning of the year. The first was to cycle at least as far each month as I had in the same month the previous year. So far I have exceed last years monthly totals in every month except one one month. The second was to do at least one 100 mile ride, which I completed.

In about October it looked as though if I made a bit more effort I could reach 10,000km this year. I still have 400km to go, but barring injury or really terrible weather I should make it.

Having targets makes going out on grotty days a touch less unpleasant!

well done pk99, what's on the cards for next year, now that you have done all that hard work.

Mrs PK and I are riding Mt Ventoux in September on a Ventoux to Vence tour - so lots of hill training next year - much shorter rides than this year!

Puzzle game procrastinator!
For my 60th year I set myself some targets - initially between birthdays, but a broken rib and then series of chest infections last Autumn rather scuppered that so I switched to Calendar year 2015

so:
6000 miles
6 Imperial Centuries
60 60 mile rides

All now done!

121 rides in the year, average distance 50 miles

The 6 tours became 5 but what the hell.

For the geeky: that is an Eddington 60 in my 60th year, and my overall Eddington number is now 68.

To lifetime cyclists those numbers may look pretty tame, But I bought my first ever bike (an mtb) about 15 years ago and my first road bike in spring 2008.
Ha ha - you've stolen my thunder (I have very similar goals planned for 2016 - I turn 60 in January) - well done! :bravo:

BOOM!!! Well done. Crackin' rides and distances.
Us 60+ers have to keep the flag flying and show the yoof that we can still do it.

:okay:
