Now I am going to upset all touring folks............... Bought me a CUBE Tourer 2010, discs, front sus, xt rear, dynamo hub. Have ordered a butterfly bar as I don't like straight bars.
Weigh a ton 14.6 kilo and I love it. I was a bit wary about the sus but it is brilliant. Turn it off when on good roads and on when on bumpy roads and it flatten out the bumps very well.
From what I read here about real tourers my Cube is all it shouldn't be: Aluminium, front sus, heavy, butterfly handlebar BUT I have a Brooks saddle lol. But still it's a beauty to ride I am not going for Tour de France. Like slow touring so I can explore and see things.
To add to all touring no no's i will add a trailer soon............Now you can shoot me.........

If you tour on it, then it's a tourer!

I've never had a tourer. No room.

The best one was the tatty rigid MTB. I miss it.

I agree use whatever is good for you, cycle touring is more of an Art form than a Science. Have you had any thoughts on what type of trailer you might try?
