Just took her out for her first proper ride and I'm now aching nicely having given myself the best work out in years. I'm tweaking the seat height and position and it feels good. Not sure about the plastic cages on the peddles but I'll see how it goes. I'm in no rush to buy clip ons.

I do need to get some decent lights though. Feeling fairly vulnerable alongside all that evening rush hour traffic. Something bright on the front that flashes and one of those glow sticks on the back so the side view is prominent.

I also broke my cheap eBay computer, which rattled anyway so was happy to lose it and just listen to the whisper quiet bike tootle along.

I say tootle. I was giving it the beans. Quite proud. If I do that 3 times a week after work I'll be a new man.

good choice of bike and look forward to the photos and bragging rights!

ps, 17.5 miles in under an hour going up a hill would be pretty impressive, dont be ashamed if it takes you longer.
+1 as soon as you start hitting hills your average just nose dives , in the last half of my commute home my avg drops 1.5 -2 mph

You'll be up Leith Hill in no time at all.
That's an ascent of 1883 feet from my house!!! (My work is only 500f)

BTW you lot probably know this already but if you want to enable a tool in multi map that shows ascent profile you can enable it by going into settings, then Labs. A little ruler button appears in the bottom right of your screen when its enabled.
