Me... again.

I need new brake blocks and want to shop around rather than just buy from Evans like normal but I'm bamboozled by choice.

I seem to go through brakes at a rate of knots and need good stopping power that lasts.

not sure which brakes you've got but Kool Stop Salmons are the ones to go for.

Excellent in the wet, and last well.

I should have know really as I've just built up an old Sirrus frame

The v-brake ones should work. They should look very similar to the ones you've got already.

I think the black ones will last longer, but the salmons are great in the wet so worth using all year round in this country.

But both will last a lot longer than the generic/Shimano ones you have been using.

I think the other colours are the same as the blacks, compound wise, just cosmetic.
