Looks like a nice route!
I try to do a century ride a year - a couple of years ago I did Charfield, Severn Bridge, then out through Usk, almost to Abergavenny, back to Monmouth then over the Forest of Dean. I wimped out on the hill climbing and took the A4136 out of Monmouth - still have to climb up but as it's an A-road the gradient is never too bad. Then Cinderford, down to the A48, then Gloucester and back via the A38.
Was wondering which way you went through the Forest?
You've just motivated me a bit more to get my legs back into condition so I can do long days again after a fairly slothful winter!

Hey gang i've been a little snowed under with work lately so i've been a bit behind with the cycle diary.

Epic route breaking 90 miles but for some reason my hips cramped up after 30 which made the final 60 miles a real push. Since this ride "Pete" has gone home so I'll be back on the MTB probably for the rest of the rain season.

Love youtube vids and hoping to pluck up some guts to get myself on camera doing a few reviews, and descriptive rides etc....
Nice work mate

I'm set up already but nothing of any significance just yet. Just the odd ride and walk around of my bike etc. Been asked to do a review of my bike which I'm hoping to get done this week
Cheers Liam

even the insignificant stuff can be significant. there are a couple routes i do if im short on time and they make for great yard sticks when testing new bikes/fitness. i.e. when i changed from mtb to roadbike i used my regular routes to compare times/speed etc

The joys of riding relatively flat roads, I'm sure my mileage would be considerably higher if we had less hills round these parts, it doesn't matter which direction i set off for a ride it always involves hills. Those roads look lovely to ride, shame about the cramps spoiling it for you.

The Forest of Dean isn't flat...
