Now I know normally someone puts a post on about chest pain it's usually, go to the GP. Since last night after dinner I've had a pain coming occasionally in my breast bone, not while exercising. In fact yesterday on my commute I had no problems even carrying bike and full planner up the stairs no problem. My wife thinks it's nothing to worry about but me being hypochondriac I almost tend to agree. I will leave it until tomorrow to see if it has eased or gone. If not I might go to A&E just a tad worried.

Could be costochondritis, I suffer from it's close relative Tiezie Syndrome. That said, I've had to declare it on a form in the same box as heart attack, because of pains in the chest.

But as always ... See the doc!

Bornholm's disease is another wild stab in the dark, unlikely too be a cardiac event if you can thrash around on the bike.

Usual routine of seeing dic if it doesn't go

Thanks, that feedback sounds reasonable. I nearly didn't start this thread for fear of the replies feeding my Health Anxiety which encompasses my life unfortunately.

Don't hold out much hope for the doc - unless it's 'something interesting' you'll be lucky to get more than a few pills and a twenty second 'consultation'

Hopefully he would come away with nothing more than reassurance that it wasn't a major problem, to set his mind at rest.

Breast bone ?? Exactly where ?? If it's around the strenum area then it could be your cycling position, it won't hurt while you are dcycling but can tighten up, either ride a little more upright or do some dumbell pullovers on a bench to stretch the area out, butget seen by a specialist as a referral from your GP jusy incase it is more serious

Thanks, it's now cleared up so hopefully that's it, if it does return I'm straight to the docs.
