I have a Campagnolo-branded textran skull cap that I bought some years ago and it's excellent - very thin and light but keeps your head nicely warm without boiling it. Costs rather more than MBE's £3 Karrimor job though.

I've heard a rumour that a Buff is supposed to be quite good for this purpose.

Do that at this time of year, you may need the Buff to keep something else warm...not that head

The Mavic H2O cap is ok for the price but tbh I just use a £4 cotton one myself. If I use a buff I tend to put it around my neck more than my head...
