I know it's wrong to live in the past but this music still haunts me today.

The great heydays of the mid 80's when Hinault Fignon Yates Kelly Millar Roche were all about

Hard to believe it derived from a Buzzcock's song or should I say Pete Shelley?

I have no recollection of that theme music at all. TBH I have very little recollection of that era.

They didn't use the extended version very often. This was the classic title sequence, which just used the guitar riff and the Frère Jacques pastiche:

I don't remember Richard Keys presenting, only Gary Imlach (who also presented C4's US football coverage in those days).

I've just checked and might be confused with the Kellogsg Tour of Britain

Same tune, just a slightly different cut without the Frère Jacques bit.

Superb mullet there from Gert-Jan Theunisse. I'd quite like one of those PDM Concorde bikes .

A clubmate had one, one of the local shop's sold them. He was a hamfisted clot however, and by the time he'd fitted the full Record groupset to the frame there was a large chunk of paint missing from a fork leg, several areas round the bottom bracket were bare metal and every place he'd been near with a spanner or an Allen key was covered in scratches.
