British cycling 10% Halfords discount.

Does anyone know how this works,

Mrs Aud is looking at a bike and with the 10% i would save it would be worth joining.

Any one used it?

Looks like you have to print off a voucher to use in the shop. I think the membership card only took a few days to arrive. Halfords prices tend to change though, so there is a chance that itll go up while you're waiting. You can signup with a halfprice code and claim 5-10 back through quidco (depending on if you already have quidco), so it end up only costing £2-7 iirc.

Halfords are also pretty good at running out of the bike you want, as I found out recently, in fact so recently it was out of stock before Xmas, which is almost too hard to believe until I remembered it was Halfords I was dealing with.

If you're a member of BC, you have to print off the voucher and you can use it again and again once printed. Good luck either way.

The bike in question isnt needed in a hurry so it may be a case of deposit and then wait.

I really dont want to order from Halfords but its a Boardman and its looking likely it is the one SWMBO wants.

You just take the printed voucher into the store and they process it at the till.
If you reserve a bike now and the price changes before the bike arrives, or you pay the balance then Halfords will honour the lower price if you prompt them. Sometimes we don't notice ourselves, there are too many products to remember all the prices.

The vouchers also work on discounted goods too. It says on anything.

I used my BC discount on the Garmin 200 offer Halfords did. £130, 20% discount, then I showed them my BC discount, the lad joked 'have you any more' then I added that there was £30 cash back from Garmin, so the unit worked out less than £70 ! The lad had to laugh.

That said I've probably lost £30 of discount on my son's bike as I had forgotten about the Halfords BC 10% - got a good deal on my daughter's MTB though !
