british cycling and the halfords discount

I have been thinking of joining british cycling for a while, now I see that halfords has some reductions on bikes Im thinking of buying the full sus mountain bike I have been hankering after. Its the FS team at £1000, but with £70 off from halfords, and the BC discount being 10% (92.90) now seems a good time to buy.

Question is, how long is is before I can use the 10% discount (or how long does it take for BC to issue the details of how to use it), and how do I use it?

If i remember correctly the discount is an instore discount which you get on showing your membership card

Your card shouldn't take long, mine arrived quite quickly from memory. Ring Halfords and ask them.

I'm not so sure it's as simple as that. I've a feeling you can use it straight away but need a coupon which you can generate on the BC website once you are a member whenever you need to and the Halfords store scan it. Might be wrong though.

Just had a look in the membership area of the BC site and this is what it says:

You need to print off the below voucher and take it into your local Halfords store. You will need to take your British Cycling membership card with you to validate the voucher.
The Halfords discount is only available in store. You can reserve products online and collect in store with your printed voucher.
If you haven’t received your membership card yet, call the membership team on 0161 274 2010 for an e-mailed copy.

My Halfords here in Leicester just accepted my membership card I didn't even know about the voucher.
