British Cycling coaching qualifications

Quick question that I thought a few of you may know the answer to. Our kids go to a bike club and those who run it have asked if any parents would be interested in doing the coaching qualifications and helping out. Hubby and I have both put our names forward but I have just been thinking...common sense (not that I have much lol) tells me that you would need to be a member of British Cycling. Is this the case?

You might get free membership in return. I did the Breeze ride-leader training from British Cycling and got a year's free membership.
