Um, I'm feeling a little guilty about the fact that you've all wished me well and I haven't thanked you for your support. Sorry.
It gave me quite a boost last night when I revisited the thread. Thank you.

I had the fracture reduced and plated and pinned last week and all seems to be going well.

The journey back to cycling has begun through the process of poring over unnecessarily expensive bits of kit that I don't need on the net. Turbo rides will be a while yet but will be the next step.

Missed this first time round. Glad things are healing - looks like it was a few weeks before you were operated on - ouch....

Did you get the reg and all that ? Did the driver stop..?

Must say, you were up on your feet mightily quickly....

Ben, let me know if you want to borrow a turbo. I've got one sat here doing nothing, and can easily drop it over. Its rim drive, so no need to worry about training tires.

Cheers Andy, I'll let you know when I'm up to it. I lent mine to Luke so I'm without at the moment.

mrMag00: Everything was dealt with at the time by the police, who I believe may have been called by the driver. I'm getting my stuff together for the CTC's injury people so hopefully it should all be straightforward.

That would have been in order to get the bike to safety.

I'm quite pleased I managed to get my priorities right under the circumstances.

Thinking about it Andy, you might want to be careful about that loan. That was the same thought I had when I lent mine. Though I suppose it might be a remnant of your upright days.

The main difference is probably that you don't spend 80% of your domestic conversations defending 'Why isn't that in the shed yet? You don't even use it!!!'

I figure Evey doesn't have your mobile number, so won't feel obligated to constantly check its whereabouts once offloaded

Ouch, nasty. I fell of and broke my collar bone in 1998 too and I can completely sympathise. Unfortunatly mine completely shattered so had to have a plate put in so hope your recovery proves more straightforward.

Seems to be going well so far BM thanks for asking, although it is starting to feel frustratingly slow. The bone feels solid and comfortable, the scar is continuing to heal incredibly neatly. I had some nerve pain down the centre of my chest but that is receding. Physio should step up a gear next week and hopefully I'll be fit for riding, driving etc. from the start of February. I've worked all but one day of the last few weeks so I'm thoroughly fed up with the public transport of south London. Can't wait to get back on the bike.

BB, you're still welcome to borrow my turbo if you want. There was precious little of you before the accident. If you've suffered muscle wastage since, I'm gonna have problems finding you.
