I was wondering if anyone here can help me.

A honeysuckle tree that grows against my neighbour's wall has blown down in the winds yesterday.

It was previously secured with simple string on a nail and I'm surprised it has lasted this long using that method to be honest but yesterdauy's wind blew the thing over - see photos below.

Does anyone have any ideas on how we could stand it up again and ensure its survival? I'm pretty confident that I could stand it up and secure it to the wall somehow but I don';t know whether anything needs to be done to the trunk where it has split - any help appreciated.

The trunk may heal, but I'd get some of the nail in plant supports (you can whack them in the mortar) then tie it up carefully.

Don’t worry too much. When our garden swing died and had to be replaced, I cut the honeysuckle off 6” above the ground. A year later it’s back to the top of the swing.

Put in some robust support for the regrowth

Not a honeysuckle but a sturdy Clematis on a garden arch.
The red alert storm destroyed the arch, I had to cut the climber right back to maybe 20cm.
It's now on top of the new arch, very much alive.
