Here for rides.
Double-glazed oven door. The outer glass has been shattered by accident. Inner glass is fine. Replacement won't be here before Xtmas. If I remove the shattered glass can I still use the oven if I exercise care so as not to burn myself? If not then cooking Xtmas dinner could be tricky...

...what say the wise folks of cc?

A yes from me, although heat loss may be a problem if you want to really thrash the roasties or Yorkshire puds.

Tin foil is a good idea to mitigate that.

Absolutely no way! You'll definitely die! And that'll be Christmas ruined.

Several layers of tinfoil with gaps between not a single sheet.

At one time I could have bored you with the physics. But in simple terms several temperature differentials gives better insulation than one big one.
