Brompton Front wheels

After my rear rim wore out rather spectacularly a little while ago, I've been keeping a close eye on the front for any signs of wear.

Before it goes completely and I have to panic buy the official Brompton version, are people using anything else?

Is there anything specific to the Brompton that would prevent me from fitting a 16" BMX wheel for instance?

I don't just want change for change's sake, but would be looking to possibly upgrade via lighter materials or a better hub for instance.

16" BMX wheel is not exactly brompton spec (349),

there are quite a few options for rim nowaday. Double walled aluminum rims with anodized colours are nice choice for daily use.

High profile carbon rims or cabonized seamless rims also available for the bling factors.
