Brompton - main frame hinge

I have been told that the pivot inside can be changed only twice.
It was claimed to me that changing the pivot involves drilling the hollow in which the pivot sits, which would be the reason for this very limited number of times the pivot can be changed...
Does anyone have insider information about this?
