Plus they are called "mud"guards for a reason. They keep you and your bike clean from crud. Else "wetguards" would be a more adequate name. I dislike arriving at my destination looking as if I had sh*t my pants and slept in the bushes.

Be happy to live in the UK where the things are called mudguards. In German one (a bit oldfashioned) word for it is Kotflügel. Which translates to "sh*twings". You definitively don't wanna be without those.
