Hello all, I inherited my late fathers time trial fix wheel BSA cycle which I think is a Opperman Special, frame No. K47271 as in my profile pic. Can any one confirm this as frame number research drew a blank. It's in need of some restoration and wondered is it worth the effort?

Interesting bike, pre war. Maybe get in touch with a BSA group to find out about the frame no.

Won't be a cheap resto but labours of love never are. Won't be many about so will be rather unique. You could fit a freewheel instead of the fixed to make it more user friendly.

@Cycleops , that's an interesting set up on the brochure. Only one brake as you would expect for a fixed gear, but it's a rear brake! Must have been fun stopping in those days.

Financially, it probably isn't worth renovating, but as a tribute to your dad, well worth doing.
