Condor, in Holborn make wheels to order, they will be amazing, unfortunately with a price to match.

Spa Cycles in Harrogate also do the same at half the price (and do mail order)

I looked at Condor, but bought from Spa
Spa wheels are excellent in my experience.
I take it you think they are as good as Condor?

Thanks for the reply brains but in return for passing on denigrating your grammar can I ask how they are better? Genuine question.

As with a lot of stuff, you get what you pay for.
It's worth a visit to Condor in Holborn, if only to drool at bike porn.

I did look at their hand built wheels, made like items of jewellery, and I'm sure if I was the sort of cyclist that rode a lightweight bike on smooth roads, that could justify that sort of quality then I'd buy them, but I'm a jobbing cyclist that rides on real roads and therefore went with the hand-built wheels from Spa. They have now been on the bike for 35,000 miles with no dings and no broken spokes.

Thanks for the reply brains.

I have wandered around Condor a few times.
I have no need for jewellery.
Will spend the change on drooling into pints on tour.
My Spa wheels also been trouble free - Sputnik rims.

I had a back wheel from Spa (Sputnik/Deore) and found it started to ping spokes after a while. I did hear that they possibly had a faulty batch of spokes which may have been the cause. This destroyed my faith in Spa wheels, despite everyone insisting they are top notch.

I replaced it with a Deore/Mavic A319 from SJS Cycles in Bridegwater. This has been faultless for commuting and has also done a couple of 2 week tours with full panniers. I'm also around 115kg and if a wheel has a weakness, then I will find it.

Surprised by that.

Did you raise the issue with Spa?

Although not technical, I do to be honest have the idea that Sputnik rims will be beefier than those Mavics.
