Your quess is as qood as mine - though I find it very easy on the eye, it's not very good with underlining (eg hyperlinks). There are 2 spelling errors in the underlined opening phrase.

Me cuesta entender español hablado. Creo que es la rápidez a la que se hable.
I find it difficult to understand spoken Spanish. It's way too fast! So good luck to your lad!

When I was in my third year as a modern languages student I was sent for five months in Granada then Huelva, near Seville. Not only did I have to get my ear accustomed to rapid-fire Spanish, I also had to learn the Andaluz accent. I think it's fair to say that for a few months your brain is hard at work absorbing new stuff. Drinking lots of vino tinto, Manzanilla and vino fino de Malaga certainly helped to lubricate the process and after three months living in halls with 80 other Spaniards I was yakking away like a good 'un. I then transferred to Grenoble for five months and had the job of switching over to French.... difficult because we weren't obiged to attend any lectures and our circle of friends was a crowd of very hospitable Iranians who were there learning how to make atomic bombs.

That's great! How's your Spanish now? Do you still get a chance to practise it?
