Instead of buying new vacuum cleaner filters I chuck the used ones in an old pillowcase and bung them in the washing machine with the laundry. I get 4 or 5 uses out of them before they require replacing, which saves my change purse a tenner a time and reduces the amount going into landfill.

So what money saving hints and tips do you fine folk have?

I find waving money is cheaper than spending it.

Don't buy a hot tub. Running costs are ruinous. Fortunately, for my pocket, ours died completely a few months back. Not replacing as MrsF now prefers her cold dip ice bucket.

Dont throw it away. Next time you go for a dip take a hot water bottle in with you, and get the missus to thrash the water about with an egg whisk.
