More like fifty. The trick is to gently scrape them occasionally rather than wear them out with regular washing.

Instead of buying new vacuum cleaner filters I chuck the used ones in an old pillowcase and bung them in the washing machine with the laundry. I get 4 or 5 uses out of them before they require replacing, which saves my change purse a tenner a time and reduces the amount going into landfill.

So what money saving hints and tips do you fine folk have?

My vacuum filters are as old as the vacuum. I vacuum the dust out of them with the handheld vac.
As for the disposable bags, cut one end open, fold a couple of times a keep it shut with a plastic poster clip...

...to make the bag reusable 👍
