If you have standard UK wall plus with a switch on them

Never leave devices switched off overnight as they still use electric when the switch is off
You need to actually unplug them to save money

(It reminded me because this was actually one I heard in the wild - "the wild" being a school and "someone" who had gone on a cost-cutting course)
