Hi,
I'm a photography student in university and I'm doing a project which involves me taking pictures of burnt out/ derelict/ abandoned cars in the London area.. I was wondering if anybody had any information and could direct me to their whereabouts!? It would be greatly appreciated... thanks!

Burnt out cars...

Very clever!

You're a Scrappie. Lorry, with a crane on the back. Instead of driving round to find the wrecks you're asking for their whereabouts to save yourself hunting. So then, you can turn up at 2am and pinch em'

All IMHO.Lol.

hmm good idea. Thanks for the suggestion
I'm not a "scrappie" honest!
I just spent ALL day in Feltham searching with no luck, so if anyone tells me if they see a wrecked car I can generally be there in 24hours  would be helpful cos that was a lot of cycling round in circles today!

Wouldn't have a clue. Don't live in London, and I don't make a habit of telling people where I burn cars for kicks... er, I mean where I've seen cars burnt out.

Ahem.

In all seriousness, there are some very good pictures in that set.

I would second contacting the council. Though having seen burnouts locally I know they sometimes dump them in some rough areas, so be careful pointing the camera around. :becool:

My council has a policy of removing all dumped cars within 24hrs of notification (and clamping all untaxed cars in the same time). So in this day and age you need to be fast to get there before the council does.

How about arranging to travel for the day with the team that does the pick ups ?

Or perhaps you get your kicks out of the Burnt outs......

Sod the Gimp suit, whips and chains. Just point out the nearest burnt out vehicle and it's nirvana.

you need to find the waste ground they'll dump them on, down old industrial yards etc

might be an idea to have a mate come with you to keep a look out if you're pointing a decent looking camera about

someone was about to try and have my camera off me the other week until he realised it wasn't a digital - i love that old AE1

Freud would love you to bits.

Ive not been to London much or for a while but I think the Stanstead express went by a field full of them . From other cities I've found that joyriders quite often steal them in the inner city and torch them in the middle of nowhere. How do they get home after they've torched the car
