^^ I know, but I was saying that one can be caught out in any vehicle if you're not familiar with the area or just not with the times of enforcement
If only they put signs up telling people....^^ I know, but I was saying that one can be caught out in any vehicle if you're not familiar with the area or just not with the times of enforcement
I think he was in his home town not an unfamiliar area though...and familiar enough to know the rules have changed from what I can tell^^ I know, but I was saying that one can be caught out in any vehicle if you're not familiar with the area or just not with the times of enforcement
I was in Hull last week... I managed to avoid driving in the bus lanes.
No, it's not about accepting rules it's about avoiding responsibility. It's interesting to see how many people accept rules, rather than looking at them to see if there's an alternative way that achieves the goal more effectively.
Presumably, a law enforcing helmets and hi-viz or only approved lights, enforced use of cycle paths or a bale of hay in every taxi would be defended as vigorously.

Now, had you come on and said you disagreed with a bus lane and wanted to discuss how to get it changed then maybe you'd get a better reception. There's plenty of people in here who campaign. They don't usually start with being pissed off about a fine, calling those the administer it thriving bastards and working out a way of wriggling out of it.
Instead it was a 'it's not fair I got done' teddy bear out of pram post.
I don't agree with all rules. But if they need changing, then do so. Don't just bitch about it when you got caught because YOU DIDNT PAY ATTENTION when driving.
As for my thoughts I've no idea why bus lane are sometimes allowed. I'd have them enforced 24/7. I'd have them for buses and cyclists only. I see no reason to have two lanes for cars outside of fast A roads and motorways. So don't give me your moral crusade about what is right because I don't even believe what you want is right.
...and I'm sure the mouth breathers on Pistonheads agree with you.Not quite why I posted, (I've already sent off my payment btw) but I'm sure the others in the monastery agree with you.

That doesn't really tally with your OP though.
Nope never had a fixed penalty notice for using the bus lane. You're welcome...
What about an indirect free kick?
Couldn't think of a funny reply so I gave up.![]()
