This came on a secondhand bike I purchased, and I don't want it, so looking to lose the extra weight, and free up some pounds (sterling!).

I understand it's a fantastic system, automatic light, and also charges gadgets! See the link below for details. Now the problem will be in transplanting it, since it needs to be built into a wheel, and I know nothing about this, so the ideal would be to swap wheels. It's currently on a Whyte Dorset, so another Whyte would be a great contender for the transplant.

Would £250 be a sensible price? (I have no idea what the dynamo and wheel build up would cost on top of the £140 for the light). If not, make me an offer.

What exactly are you selling besides the front light? Is it a full dynamo front wheel and rear light? If so, what hub is it and is it disc brake compatible?

Yes, well ideally a wheel swap if somebody with a similar Whyte disk brake bike wants it. Then I'd imagine it will be a very simple swap. I'm not entirely sure it would be worthwhile without being able to do a wheel swap, I'd imagine if one was going to build up a wheel with a hub dynamo, it would be a new one.

This is the hub dynamo:

Wheel is a Whyte RD-7 series, with disc brakes.

Well I don't really have a suitable wheel to swap I'm afraid as my Genesis has a few years worth of commuting on it now so it's probably past its best.

If you don't manage to get a swap sorted then let me know and I might be interested if you fancy just flogging the lot.

I could be up for swapping with my disc DT Swiss 350 archetype wheels (advertised on here) do you have a picture of your wheels? Are the hubs and rims black?

Realise that i would need to pay cash+ my wheels for yours and the light.

DT Swiss ones weigh about 1.7kg so probably at least a 500g weight saving for you!
