At the risk of looking too much like a fan-boy for the London busses:blush:……has anyone else noticed how lovely and warm these things are when you pull up behind them, they chuck out a huge amount of heat (and crap no doubt). I caught a fair few last night and it really warmed the "cockles of m' heart!" during the dark winter ride;)

Have you been puffing on the exhaust pipe?

He he...either that or I've ingested a little too much of the "lithium" grease that I've been applying to Chitty (Sorry TT the LBS was out of silicon, so I grabbed a tub of this for the short term).

splutter splutter....LITHIUM!!!!!!
Should be ok on the spindles though! Only taking the piss but I assume you'd be used to that by now!

are you flaking the paint off chitty and ingesting it perchance?

Agreed though there are nice warm bits when they pass you.

Oh - missing bike trips- need to shake the cold (another one) and get out again to experience this warming phenomenon

Buses are an assault on all the senses. They stink, block your sightline and are noisier than a 747 flying over at 1,000ft.

Only sense that's escaped the unwelcome attention of TfL's buses so far is taste. I hope it stays that way.

Nope - I haven't done that yet. All my senses have (repeatedly) taken a battering from the red juggernauts, EXCEPT my sense of taste. My writing should have been a bit clearer. But if I ever do go up to a lollipop-red bus and give in to the urge, I'll tell you all about it.

Has anyone notice that when you suddenly switch from rural to urban areas, you are greeted by a heatwave... I rekon humidity has somthing to do with how noticeable it is, but sometimes you can actually pin-point which houses have their heating switched on or not as you ride past..
