and plenty of inconsiderate fair weather cyclists as well.

Those that think it's good to pull in front of you at the lights when they finally catch up forcing you to make yet another overtaking manouver to get past them. *sigh*

Sounds like your route is similar to mine but I left Wimbledon at 7 am today (early meeting) and everything was clear all the way even across Blackfriars Bridge. What a difference 1/2 an hour makes!

It was signal failure and the Northern Line was suspended between Morden - Stockwell. The roads were jammed at 8am and there were hundreds of peds milling about looking for buses. What's great in these situations, even with v long tailbacks, is that it only delays me by a few minutes...

Ooh. Sounds nasty. Glad I avoided it by oversleeping, then faffing about, then taking the long way in as (what the hell, its sunny and) I'm late anyway.

I wonder why people do that. It seems so pointless. I don't ride in big cities thankfully, but because I am so much slower than most "proper" cyclists I always try and let them through or keep out of their way.

This. Nobbers everywhere today. Dangerous cyclist undertake at Oval tube, stupid RLJing etc. And lots of people in their shorts again.

Still good to see more cyclists even if their riding style isn't very sensible compared to us winter hard knocks.

it's mainly because they are idiots! Or because they only think about themselves...

There's so many of them though. At least once a day I'll have a cyclist stop directly in front of me at the lights only to slowly pull away when it goes green. It's just the men that do it, although I hardly see women on my journey.

Very annoying. I first tried to console myself with the fact that at least they'd stopped at the lights, but now I just find it really rude. They overtake just to slot in front of me and then I can't sprint off at the lights as I like to do (it's the only time I can sprint as I don't have enough stamina to maintain a great pace for long distances).

But there are many worse offences on the road, so I shouldn't get too het up about it.

Jesus wept...after today's fun commute I've got a later commute in.

I thought something was wrong on the Jubilee Line as well.

It was very busy than usual on my commute in the morning, too. Chiswick high street has road work at couple of places, but, it's since last few weeks. May be just coincidence.
