The fairy visited this morning. Raining. Whipped the inner tube out, new one in and loaded a cartridge into my 3 month old, never used C02 gizmo.
Praise <please insert Deity of choice>.
After years of Blackburn mini pumps, which I am not impressed with, it is a revelation. In fact I thought it had not worked until I noticed the tyre was full, and a good pressure.
If you don't have one I recommend them.

Now't wrong with a pump - love my BLACKBURN AIRSTICKS - so much I have three and a Blackburn Track Pump ! ^_^
I have 2 Blackburn mini pumps, one has a high/low switch. That one broke after the first attempt and now only works in low. The other is slightly smaller so is the one I carry. It does work but I consider it a "get you home pump" and get nowhere near the pressure I would like.

This is the version I have:-

Got two alloy ones and a carbon wrap one. 100 PSI no problem.

Anyway, it's good upper body exercise. These cyclists are getting lazy ^_^

I can see how handy CO2 is, but I've never had a real need. Do you still carry a pump incase of failure ?

Lazy, yes, I am exhausted after trying to get a decent pressure
Yes, still carry the one in the pic.

Good to hear of your miraculous conversion.

I've been carrying them (CO2 inflators) for at least 6 years now and have used them 4 times on my tyres and 3 times on other peoples. Usually the top bit and 2 bottles go with me.

Brilliant devices.

I still carry a mini pump though, just in case I need more than two tyre-fulls.

I use a 12v compressor at home too, much easier than a track pump. Again I keep a working track pump on the shelf just in case the compressor fails. (One failure since 1974, the original Halfords one only lasted 36 years - should have bought a better one!).

You just can't trust Halfords.
