Are you claiming from the (presumably) car driver for a bike which you didn't own or are you claiming for a new bike from your employer? No expert, but it seems like fraud and the other quite naive?!

For all intents and purposes it's your bike.

It's your liability if it's lost / stolen /damaged - the "loan" would still have to be paid. You couldn't give back a mangled bike.

Not dissimilar to a vehicle bought on HP. You are responsible for it.

+1 the paperwork for C2W strongly recommends insurance should be the bike be stolen. As above it's your liability if the bike is stolen or damaged, so there is no moral problem in claiming the cost of replacement,

by the time it gets to court you will have paid the final payment and therefore the bike is yours. Also, during the hire period, they recommend you have insurance in place in case the bike gets trashed/stolen. This is for YOU, not them. You keep the cash if a claim is made. my friend claimed on her bike through her house insurance, they didn't question that it was technically hired. Therefore, i see no difference, you will get to keep the cash if the claim is successful. Besides which, if they come back with the fact you didn't own the bike, you sue them for the cost of the hire of the bike, and the money you've lost because their client's actioned meant you weren't able to purchse it at the end. Do they even know it's a cyclescheme bike and, if not, how are they going to find out if you don't volunteer the info? do you have a receipt from the shop for the cost of the bike. If so, that's proof enough the bike is yours.
