does anyone know if a 16lt ortlieb saddle bag will fit a caad12. I’m not sure there’s enough seat post visible to fit the bag. Thanks in advance. Bag is this one

The bike model is fairly irrelevant - it is the size of you and the bike that matter. You might be able to guess based on geometry charts for the BMC and Cannondale, but it would only be a guess.

It’s the geometry. Sloped top tube of my old BMC meant that there’s lots of exposed seat post. The caad has a “classic” frame shape so hardly an seat post room to mount a bag

If you can't buy brackets just make 4 fixings with 15mm copper pipe.
Cut a 4x short lengths, flatten with a hammer, bend around a former, drill holes, trim.
Fasten rack with 4 x shake proof nut, bolt & washer.

Don't overload and inspect periodically.

Sounds like a plan. I would protect the stays with strips of old inner tube under the brackets.
