I think this may have been a link someone posted here, but I can't find the thread and can't find the article linked to!
I've been offered as many cable ties as I can handle by the IT department at work and am tempted to give it a shot - Article suggested wrapping a cable tie around the wheel between each spoke does a pretty effective job of giving you grip in the snow and ice. As my bike has disc brakes this shouldn't give me any problems, just might be a bit of a hassle taking them off if it doesn't work!
Don't have the nous nor the tools to try making my own snow tyres with pop rivets or screws.
Anyone know if this method is actually at all effective?
