I love big old f*ck off American cars of the 1950s. Some of them are works of art, imho

Have you seen the 'Welderup' ('Sin City Motors' on the Dave channel) Cadillac??

Beats my common as muck Astra any day.
That's a '56
Gorgeous, but not quite John Milners '55, from American Grafitti
(same '454' powered car, that was grey-primered, & driven by James Taylor, in Two-Lane Blacktop)
Yes, that is a very young Harrison Ford

There are worse cars though, a guy I worked with used to potter about in one of these.

He reckoned to get about 8mpg out of it.

It always interests me how the Americans could build huge, thirsty big 5 or 6 litre V8 engines which gave similar levels of performance to a Fiat Uno.

And as for the stylingxx(

They also don't appear to understand the concept of suspension, springs, dampers and body control.

Watching The Birds last night and googled the pickup a woman drove at one point - a Ford F-250. It seems they still use the name, and the current version came up, complete with its 6.7 litre V8 turbo diesel engine. 6.7 litre?

Plus, someone I know (sort of.... I knew her ex-husband, & remember them getting married, back in the very late 80's) owns this, along with the present hubby

Fantastic to see one again, mine was the only one around when I had mine, (salted roads, hard winters, gas guzzler) . A friend of mine, whose Dad had an insurance agency, had a Barracuda. Amazing old lead sled, that.

Yes, and the turbo sounds like a big, irritating vacuum cleaner in traffic. I like the big gasoline engines on the Fords, reliable and responsive.

At least they haven't gone the same way as Chevrolet:

Two lane Blacktop - my all time favourite movie !

Some people dismiss is claiming it's slow and nothing happens - as if that mattered. Sheer perfection from start to finish
One of mine car films too, along with
(the aforementioned) American Grafitti
Smokey & The Bandit (first one, a great title song from Jerry Reed, & that Kenworth W900 was gorgeous. 2nd was passable)
Convoy
Hooper
